About Betty Elaine Kindergarten

Betty Elaine Kindergarten is a privately owned and family operated Centre. Betty Elaine Kindergarten is renowned for providing a delightfully “ home away from home” environment for all children, their families, educators and visitors. A special place that is always warm and welcoming.

Our History

Purpose built and established in the late 1950’s,  Betty Elaine Kindergarten has played an integral role in the lives of the children and their families in Lidcombe and surrounding areas.

We have a fantastic qualified teaching team who are enthusiastic about providing a fun, educational and loving environment for children to learn and grow.

At Betty Elaine Kindergarten we put the children first in everything we do.

The love and care for each child is paramount, as well as establishing strong relationships with families.

We have an ongoing commitment to provide a service of the highest quality.

At the Betty Elaine Kindergarten we recognise that families are children’s first and most influential teachers.

We are committed to continue providing a welcoming environment where all children and families are respected and actively encouraged to collaborate with teachers about learning experiences which are meaningful to their child. We are committed to continue building and nurturing genuine partnerships where everybody’s culture, beliefs, knowledge and ability to communicate freely are valued and respected. At The Betty Elaine Kindergarten we acknowledge that each partnership is unique and will be dependent upon the specific needs, interests and communication styles of each and every family. Families are actively encouraged to participate in the daily life of the centre, to enrich the curriculum and foster a genuine sense of Belonging and community within the centre.

The foundation of our philosophy is based on the belief that both parents and educators can work together as a team in making decisions about the operation of our service in order to not only achieve the National Quality Standards, but also to further improve quality at The Betty Elaine Kindergarten. Our aim is to ensure the guiding principles of the National Quality Framework inform all aspects of the delivery of our early childhood education curriculum.

These principles include:

  • The rights of the child are paramount.
  • Children are successful, competent and capable learners
  • Equity, inclusion and diversity are clearly visible in all aspects of service delivery (commitment to employing bi-lingual staff)
  • Valuing Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures
  • High expectations for children, educators and service providers

Karen and her dedicated team of Educators would like to welcome you to The Betty Elaine Kindergarten and look forward to meeting you and your family soon.
